Hey there, everybody! Just like that, the first month of 2014 is already over. Can you believe it? Are you still working on your resolutions or did you already throw them out the window? I must say, I failed a few times, but I’m still better than I thought. Here’s what has been going on lately and what I’m hoping for in February…
Reading | I still really love Darling Magazine (I shared this in my look back on November already). I probably check two or three times everyday to see if something new is on there! Other than that, I really enjoy Jesus Is by Judah Smith which is such an uplifting read and just as good as everybody says.
Travelling | I can’t believe that one month already passed since our trip to Kopenhagen! Such a great start to the year. I also travelled to Frankfurt with my family to celebrate my father’s birthday (I’ll share some photos soon!), which was another great trip I would take again any day.
Listening | I’ve been feeling kind of uninspired when it comes to music lately. Do you have any recommendations for a folk lover like me? I’ve really enjoyed Gregory Alan Isakov though.
Working | A lot! I still work on two jobs, this blog and there are tons of exams coming up next week. It’s getting better soon so I’m not totally stressed out.
Planning | Today I got the news, that I’ll be able to study in Scotland for a few months this year in September. This is a total dream come true and I can’t quite believe that it will actually happen so soon. I can’t quite put it into words, in my head there’s just one big YAAAAAAY!!
Blogging | I haven’t blogged too much in January, but I was so happy to introduce a new feature – Our Perfect Date. I can’t wait to see it grow and read more romantic stories :). I also really loved to answer Helena’s questions for the Liebster Award.
Creating | I enjoyed taking more photos this month. I actually went out with my camera alone and took some pictures of my hometown. I’m always so shy when it comes to taking pictures (especially when I’m alone) so this was a huge step forward.
Meeting | New and old friends. I’m now a part of the ‘Welcome’ Team at my church which is both tons of fun and also helps me meet new and interesting people every week. There were also some great ‘food dates’ with my friends this month (brunch, Italian, hot dogs, grilled cheese, chocolate fondue…I really can’t complain!).
Eating | I have a confession to make – I’m really addicted to nuts and almonds at the moment. I probably go through two packs every week. It’s just so good. And I’m happy to report that I’ve been cooking a bit more this month – especially a new favourite from the Leon cookbook – brussel sprouts soup (I could have eaten the whole pot it was so good).
Selling | I actually sold my first scarf to a complete stranger today! I haven’t really put too much energy into my Etsy shop, but I’m really happy and proud somebody actually got something there :)
Starting | Going to the farmer’s market regularly again. I’ve been there every week and it’s so much fun to cook with all these fresh ingredients.
Missing | My family a little bit. I haven’t been home in nearly a month and it’s time to go and visit in my opinion.

And these are my goals and hopes for February:
1 | I want to continue to slowly change my eating habits this month so I want to try to drink more green smoothies instead of other snacks. One every day would be ideal, but we’ll see. Do you have any favourite recipes?
2 | Along with eating healthier, I want to start moving more again. I take my bike everywhere in the summer, but in winter I’m lazy and take the train. This month I want to take it to work again and enjoy some fresh air as well.
3 | Once my exams are over, I’m definitely taking a Skillshare class. I can’t decide between learning Illustrator or Lettering though. What do you think?
4 | Get eight hours of sleep every night.
5 | And I want to take at least one Saturday off and explore a new city, even if it’s just half an hour away.
6 | I’m definitely itching to blog a little more next month (and I already have tons of plans as well ;). I spend a whole evening the other day sprucing up my About page and organizing my tags and categories. Now everything feels fresh and I would love to spend all day just writing new posts.
What have you been up to lately? And what are you looking forward to in February?

Sounds like you’ve had a big month, Hanna. And didn’t it fly? Wishing you a great Feb! Let me know which Skillshare class you end up taking because I’m having trouble deciding myself :)
Sounds like a good list of goals for February! I love that you still have some mini-resolutions for the next month. I’d like to drink more green smoothies as well… And eat more vegetable (and less meat)!
Really enjoyed reading this post :) I feel the same way towards music as you do, uninspired! Not good! I really love the idea of ‘food dates’! Congrats on your sell on Etsy so happy for you :)
I love that quote (and your February goals!) And I would say definitely take an Illustrator class if you’ve never used it before. I use Adobe Illustrator for work, but also for my blog. I prefer it to Photoshop – they work very differently.
